POWER AUDITS AND ENERGY SAVING

POWER AUDITS

A Power Audit is the means by which your total electricity consumption is measured and apportioned to each electrical equipment that uses it. Energy audit reports are important because they assist in identifying and measuring areas of energy wastage throughout the organisation’s activities.

Commercial energy audits and industrial energy audits are targeted at improving a company’s wastage by 25% to 50% within 4 years. These results are only possible Whether you own a home, industrial or commercial

property, there’s always a way we can help you with energy saving solutions. Contact our electricians today for more ideas and better ways you can save.

ENERGY SAVING PROJECTS

Reducing your energy use not only reduces your carbon footprint, it also saves you money on energy bills.

That’s especially exciting when you consider that for many home and businesses, energy improvements are fast, easy and inexpensive. Often the savings of an individual project are small, but when you start putting them together they add up quickly.  NeX●G offers customized Energy Saving Packages.

3 SIMPLE ENERGY SAVING SOLUTIONS YOU CAN IMPLEMENT RIGHT NOW!

  1. GEYSER TIMERS AND BLANKETS:

By reducing the number of times your geyser switches on and off during the day and only having it switch on when you need hot water and

insulating the geyser against heat loss, you could save between 20% – 30% on your monthly electricity costs.

  1. ENERGY & WATER SAVING SHOWER HEADS:

An average shower uses 20 litres of water per minute. That’s 100 litres of water for a 5 minute shower. And hot water is about 40% of that.

Installing an energy and water saving shower head will cut that water usage by a massive 50% and save you money on water and electricity

  1. SAVE POWER ON STANDBY MULTI-PLUGS:

Appliances using standby power can account for around 10%-15% of your total annual electricity consumption. Now you can save

electricity using a Save Power Standby Multi-Plug. It automatically switches off all connected accessories at the touch of a button.

when the energy auditor is qualified and has years of experience to match.

POWER FACTOR CORRECTION

Power factor is the ratio between KW and the KVA drawn by and electrical load where the KW is the actual load power and the KVA is the apparent load power. Simply it is measure of how efficiently the load current is being converted into useful work output and more particularly is a good indicator of the effect of the load current on the efficiency of the supply system.

PFC is applied to circuits that include induction motors as a means of reducing the inductive component of the current and thereby reduce the losses in the supply. PFC has no effect on the operation of the motor itself.
